about the classes

"Molly's knowledge is tremendous. Her communication skills are remarkable. Because she is so precise in explaining new material, she virtually eliminates confusion.

In the time I have studied with Molly, my posture has improved. My muscles are stronger. I am less inclined to hurt myself but if I do, I heal quick. I relax easier. I sleep soundly."

-Patty Dryden

Yoga is a developmental journey. Whether in a group class or a private session, the intent is to meet the student where they are in their development and help them to realize their full movement potential in a respectful, non-injurious way.

GROUP CLASSES

Regular group classes are designed to maximize energy, health, and well-being. They can provide physical and emotional centering, cellular optimism, life endurance and postural alignment. Emphasis is placed on the needs of the individual. Classes are taught in a safe, noncompetitive, inclusive environment, where beginners are welcome. See schedules and fees.

Challenging group classes (classes marked with an asterisk). These classes will involve more complex sequencing. They may not be appropriate for those new to this kind of Yoga or those with knee, hip or back issues. An invitation by and conversation with the teacher is required before considering this class. See schedules and fees.

PRIVATE SESSIONS

Even though every attempt is made to make a student feel safe and welcome in a group setting, sometimes group classes may not be appropriate for every individual. A particular injury, weakness, illness, or inexperience may make classes intimidating, too stressful or potentially harmful for a student. They may need more personalized attention that can address their specific issues.

Ultimately, private classes are the best way to study Yoga. Yoga is, after all, a very personal journey. Every body is different and every body has different needs. To have one-on-one attention is ideal. See schedules and fees.

WORKSHOPS

Once a month workshops are held on either a Saturday or a Sunday and are 2 1/2 hours in length. During that time a topic will be explored through lecture, exercises, questions and movement. Workshops are an excellent opportunity to deepen your own understanding of your body.

2 1/2 hours may seem daunting. However, the class will not consist of only movement and you will never be pressured to do more than your body is able and willing. As always you are invited do as little or as much as you like. Linda Lack says, "Watching is learning."

Check news and specials for specific dates, times and topics.
